The Advanced Semi-Auto Pistol 1 will offer a student the next step after the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting or similar course. The class is geared for that person who has experience with their semi-auto pistol, but wants to enhance their knowledge, skills, and attitude in running a semi-auto pistol. Topics covered will be Gun Safety, review of the Fundamentals of Marksmanship, basic shooting positions in standing and kneeling, faster target acquisition techniques, holster selection, gun presentation, malfunctions and reloads, and much more. Most of the range work will be from the gun ready position, though we will do some work from the holster. The tactics taught in this class assume you have met use of force or rules of engagement requirements. Recommended pre-requisites: NRA Basic Pistol or comparable class, as well as Justifiable Self Defense:What is It?, or comparable class. Students must be able to operate their semi-auto prior to class arrival. It is recommended that you have a minimal 400 rounds through your gun, and that you know the gun safety rules.
****Not a class to teach basic pistol, student should be comfortable operating their semi-auto prior to arrival****
Class open to current CCW holders, verified church security team members, and law enforcement.
FST reserves the right to deny admittance to this class for security and safety reasons.

Since the horrific attacks that have been occurring at the churches in America have increased, many churches have grappled with the question, "Do we need a safety/security team?" At FST we believe the answer to that question is overwhelmingly yes. Granted, a safety team can not stop all threats. Our government, through history, has not stopped all threats (Pearl Harbor, 9/11), but still maintains a robust military that does a great job. A safety team in place is better than one day answering “We could have done something, and we did nothing.”
At Firearms Safety Training LLC, we come along side church leadership, and help develop a team that works for you. We understand these are volunteer positions, and man power is always an issue. Having team members knowledgeable in firearms safety, use of force, and safety protocols is paramount in any church safety team. The owner of FST is a christian, and serves on his church safety team. We understand concerns churches have about safety teams, and strive to help you make the best of what resources you may have. Contact FST today for a free consultation on how we may be able to help you get a team up and running, or provide continuing education/training for your existing team. (Certificates of training/certifications and education of our staff available upon request by church leadership).
